Give an older adult dignity and a quality of life we all need
Hannan Center uplifts and gives older adults dignity - won't you join us?
The mission of Hannan
Center is to preserve the dignity and enhance the quality of life of older
adults throughout metropolitan Detroit. Founded in 1925 as the Luella Hannan
Memorial Foundation, today’s Hannan Center delivers critical social services
and innovative arts and culture activities.
Programs include Daybreak, a
respite program for people experiencing dementia, and their caregivers; the 70
Over Seventy gala, celebrating the achievements of individuals 70 and older; Beyond
U, offering daytime and evening creative aging courses and workshops; and the Kayrod Gallery, host of the
annual Emerge! Art Festival
featuring the works of local older adult artists and world-class exhibits. Located in Midtown Detroit’s Art and Cultural Hub, Hannan Center advocates for redefining
how people view aging and ending ageism.
